International Activities

EROS has a long history of international activities, from training foreign scientists, engineers, and land managers in the use of remotely sensed data to collaborating with agencies and organizations in many countries on projects dealing with sustainable development issues, natural resource management, land cover change, flood monitoring, and early warning systems for drought, famine, and infectious diseases. EROS continues to expand its global partnerships in scientific research and applications in Afghanistan, Africa, the Caribbean, Central Asia, Central and South America, China, and Mexico. The United Nations Environment Programme has also maintained its North American Global Resource Information Database (UNEP/GRID) office at EROS since 1991.
