Example Description Availability
Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER)

Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER)
The BAER Imagery Support program is a cooperative effort between the USDA Forest Service Remote Sensing Applications Center (RSAC) and the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center. The Centers provide rapid delivery of satellite imagery, Burned Area Reflectance Classifications (BARC), and other geospatial data.

Fire Danger

Fire Danger
Each day, the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center in collaboration with the USDA Forest Service produces forecasts for fire ignition risk and large fire probability. The forecasts are based on historical fire occurrence, current weather and fuels condition.

LANDFIRE Conus

LANDFIRE
The LANDFIRE program provides over 20 geo-spatial layers (e.g. vegetation, fuel, disturbance, etc.), databases, and ecological models that are available to the public for the US and insular areas.

Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity (MTBS)

Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity (MTBS)
Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity (MTBS), a multi-year project, consistently maps the burn severity and perimeters of fires across the United States from 1984 and beyond. The project is conducted through a partnership between the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center and the USDA Forest Service Remote Sensing Applications Center (RSAC).
