Water availability is an important issue in Colorado. Landsat helps to identify
crops during growing seasons and determines how much water they use. Landsat
satellites monitor wildfires and insect outbreaks in the State’s vast forested lands.
Landsat data are even used to help manage land use by studying how plants grow
back on abandoned oil and gas pads.
