Visitors are drawn to New Hampshire’s lakes, streams, mountain peaks, and
forests. While the State has traditionally relied on volunteers to help monitor water
quality, Landsat satellites offer consistently acquired data to monitor algal blooms.
Researchers also use Landsat data to track changes in the State’s forests, including
threats like wildfires and disease, and to measure the rate of carbon absorption.
