New Jersey’s dense population can put people and nature at risk. Landsat data
are used to map urban heat islands where people are at high risk of heat-related
illnesses. Landsat data are also used in New Jersey to develop fire risk maps
to guide future land development and to identify coastal areas vulnerable to
hurricane damage.
