Landsat satellites monitor Vermont’s forested landscape, detecting damage from
fires and diseases across the densely forested acres where ground surveying
is nearly impossible. Landsat is also beneficial for mapping and monitoring
algal blooms in the State’s lakes and for identifying trends and developments in
agricultural land use practices.
