LCMAP Webinar "Continuous Monitoring and Characterizing Land Change"

USGS Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP) is hosting a webinar series on November 6 and 7th, 2018 from 9 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. CST. An introduction to LCMAP will be provided, as well as updates on recent improvements to the algorithm, an overview of new tools developed for analysis, and the status of data products, validation, and release.

This session will describe how Analysis Ready Data (see https://landsat.usgs.gov/ard for a description of ARD) are used in LCMAP.

Wednesday Morning (November 7, 2018)

9:00       Using LCMAP Data to Inform Chesapeake Bay Restoration Decisions

This session covers how LCAMP data will be used to track and report historic changes in land use and land cover, as well as projecting land use change into the future. Use of high-resolution (1-m pixel size) land cover data to complement LCMAP products will also be discussed.

9:30       LCMAP Validation

Methods used in collection and quality control of this validation reference data set (up to 25,000 sample locations) will be presented along with some preliminary results of the QA/QC assessment.

This session provides an overview of the Piedmont ecoregion assessment results.
