Lidar Mapping in Support of Resource Investigations

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

As part of the ongoing effort to collect lidar coverage across the entire Shenandoah National Park, the NPS worked with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Geospatial Program liaison to acquire lidar data from their most recent Shenandoah Valley and Shenandoah Multi-Hazards project. Data from this project will be incorporated into GIS visualization layers in support of detailed facility mapping, improved spatial accuracy of backcountry roads and trails, and further refinement of cultural resource site studies.
