One building was inspired by flying sauces and the future, the other by the electric guitar and Jimi Hendrix. The Space Needle was built for the 1962 World's Fair. Its distinct shadow points toward the interactive music museum inspired by Jimi Hendrix and designed by Frank Gehry: Experience Music Project, and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame. Both structures are part of the Seattle Center campus. A cultural, educational, sports, and entertainment center.
