The Colorado River is the principal source of water for agriculture and riparian vegetation in Arizona, southern California, and southern Nevada. An effort for long-term monitoring using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) to recognize, map, and monitor landslide-related deformation over the southern portion of the Green Mountain reservoir was undertaken.

Remote sensing for the TRRP includes annual high-resolution aerial photography (0.5-foot pixel resolution), which provides a standard point of view for detecting morphological and vegetation changes to the river channel and floodplain.
