Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

The USFWS and USGS will enter a Memorandum of Agreement sharing a USFWS Quest/Kodiak K-100 aircraft for remote sensing.  USFWS and USGS are sharing mission information between agencies and working in close coordination to specify instrumentation and airframe modifications to meet the needs of both agencies.  Instruments to be included are SAR, lidar, and a hyperspectral scanner. Primary missions will be for acquisition of high-resolution data for wetland, riverine, and coastal habitat and elevation classification and mapping; remote sensing for waterfowl population surveys; and emergency response.
