The USGS EarthExplorer (http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov) interface has been redesigned to support new functionality required for query, visualization, and distribution of Landsat 8 and other remote sensing datasets. The enhanced flexibility and systems engineering framework of EarthExplorer fits well for providing multiple features that markedly advance the support of Emergency Operations.
The EarthExplorer flexible engineering framework allowed for the design and development of “HDDS Explorer” (http://hddsexplorer.usgs.gov/). The same features provided by EarthExplorer are made available through the Hazards Data Distribution System (HDDS) Explorer interface.
